Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a violent assault in the Purba Jadavpur area, where a group allegedly attacked a family with deadly weapons in an attempt to kill them. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Naren Das, who accused multiple individuals of carrying out the attack on March 29 around 8 pm in Jamunanagar.
According to the complaint, the accused persons arrived armed with weapons including swords, knives, iron rods and bamboo sticks, and launched a coordinated assault on Das, his brother-in-law Rabi, and others. The victims sustained grievous bleeding injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
During the course of the investigation, police arrested four accused identified as Ankit Jaiswal (19), Himansu Kumar (19), Sagar Balmiki (26), and Aman Shaw (24). Authorities stated that the accused will be produced before the Alipore court, where police will seek custody for further interrogation.
Police officials confirmed that raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused persons named in the FIR. Investigators are also probing the motive behind the attack and whether it was pre-planned or linked to any prior dispute.
